Our story begins with a humble plant that’s rooted in ancient Indian tradition.
A plant with fascinating benefits that has the potential to revolutionise the skincare industry. If you haven’t figured from our name yet, we are of course referring to Hemp!

It all started when our founding duo Abhishek Vasudev and Aakash Desai were looking for a way to reimagine how this miracle plant is perceived and consumed in India. They wanted to transform the bath and body experience using age-old rituals and the incredible power of hemp; sparking the start of something special. Indian Hempire was thus born in 2019, in the sleepy suburbs of India’s startup capital, namma Bengaluru.
The duo began by sourcing hemp seed oil straight from the valleys of Uttarakhand and carefully hand-crafting soaps and lip balms with all-natural ingredients. They didn’t just stop there. They hand-picked all-natural, biodegradable packaging to go along with their products so you can pamper yourself without harming the environment!

WHY HEMP?
Hemp seed oil is made by cold-pressing the seeds of the hemp plant and has no psychoactive properties, CBD or THC. In short, you won’t get high off of it. It does however have a comedogenic rating of zero, which means it won’t clog your pores and is perfect for all skin types.
Incredibly light and nourishing, hemp seed oil has a unique fatty acid composition that helps repair the skin barrier and limit moisture loss. In fact, it actually draws moisture to the skin.
In addition, the amount of omega-3 and omega-6 in hemp seed oil makes it anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-acneic. Ideal to soothe irritated, acne-prone skin. Hemp seed oil is also known to protect the skin against environmental damage, thereby reducing fine lines and wrinkles. So the question is, why not hemp?
